A lovely weekend getaway for my partner and I and the dog loved it too! You feel so secluded and relaxed and no need to leave all weekend! The Lakehouse is really something special and the lake and hot tub is reason enough for visiting. Richard the host, was very attentive, easy to get along with and makes you feel right at home. He supplied us with lovely Lakehouse brewed gin & even a bag of pasta that we'd left at home to make dinner with! The only thing I would say is bring your own condiments like butter, milk, ketchup etc as this isn't provided. Thank you for a lovely weekend, we would love to visit again in the summer!

Fabulous weekend at the Lakehouse. Would 100% recommend. In case on confusion, this is not a corporately packaged, neat and tidy 5 star luxury hotel room - the website literally tells you that. So if that’s what you are looking for then it’s maybe not for you. This is a self-catered wooden cabin set in the trees on the banks of a small private lake. What you get for your money at ‘The Lakehouse’ though is a delightful fairytale setting, watching the kingfishers and moorhens on the lake, a small wooden boat to row and lie in in the sunshine, the moon above you as you sit in the hot tub at night, total silence. And space, a tonne of space, total privacy and wildlife. High quality linen and towels (white and spotlessly clean), comfortable bed and sofas and thoughtful, personalised decor gave the touch of luxury that we sought, and Richard couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us Richard - we will be back next year for sure.

Absolute perfection! We spent a wonderful couple of days together with our dog nestled at the bottom of the hill in the `Lakehouse. There aren't many places where you can enjoy 360 degrees of privacy. The Lakehouse sits amongst the trees on it's own private lake with a wood-fired hot tub and pizza oven. The bed is huge and very comfortable, not that you'll want to spend much time inside. An easy to use log burner. All the Amenities! Richard the host is very friendly and accommodating, there should you need anything but gave us complete peace. The gin from his distillery was a lovely touch. Amazing produce around the local area, gorgeous coastline and pubs. Lots to see and do nearby, though I doubt you will want to leave!

What a wonderful place. Thanks Richard for making us so welcome and for showing us round on arrival. My other half treated me to a weekend away for my 50th birthday and we had an absolutely amazing time. Our two dogs loved it too. I can see why it has so many 5-star reviews. Being able to sit outside on the decking looking across the lake with a glass of gin (made and provided by Richard!) is simply bliss. The hot tub was wonderful and I loved the little walkway around the lake. I saw a review giving this place 1-star which is absolutely bonkers - if you're looking for a hotel room with a balcony in Dartmouth then go to Dartmouth. However, if you're looking for peace, tranquillity and nature in a remarkably equipped and luxurious little corner of the world then I would recommend coming here. I very much hope to return soon.

Beyond amazing! - must stay! The lakehouse is beautiful, cozy, and a sanctuary of calm, and a space to really boost your wellbeing. You can take a dip in the lake if you’re into nature swimming. Or sit on the side and listen to the water trickling. There’s a hot tub too! The house has a huge log fire, a kitchen space with all you need to cook. The bedroom is so tastefully decorated and the bed is big enough for a family! A special mention for Richard who has been above and beyond, the best host. Linking us to so many great eateries in the area, pin dropping us places for amazing walks and made it extra special for a birthday visit. We will be coming back soon! Thank you so much Richard! You made the trip for us too.
